In Case You Were Wondering, Quoting Isn't Duplicate Content - Google's Matt Cutts has put out his latest Webmaster Help video. This time he takes on a pretty classic topic – duplicate content. There's not much here that any industry veterans will find to be of particular interest, but he is answering a user-submitted question, so clearly there are people out there unsure of Google's take on quoting other sources. The question is as follows:

Correct quotations in Google. How can you quote correctly from different sources without getting penalized for duplicated content? Is it possible to quote and refer to the source?

"You're a regular blogger, and you just want to quote an excerpt – you know, some author you like or some other blogger who has good insight – just put that in a blockquote, include a link to the original source, and you're in pretty good shape," says Cutts. "If that's the sort of thing that you're doing, I would never worry about getting dinged by duplicate content. We do have good ways of detecting that sort of thing without any sort of issue at all."

"If, however, your idea of quoting is including an entire article from some other site, or maybe even multiple articles, and you're not doing any original content yourself, then that can affect the reputation of how we view your site," he adds.

Basically, as long as you are adding some kind of value and perspective to what you are quoting, you're going to be as far as Google is concerned.

"Those sorts of things are completely legitimate and absolutely fine," Cutts says. "I wouldn't worry about that.

So, if you're quoting (and linking) rather than scraping, you're probably okay. You may not want to go overboard on how much text you're actually quoting from a source, however. Otherwise, you're liable to be run into trouble with the source itself.

Muslim protesters rally in Athens over anti-Islam video - Hundreds of Muslim protesters staged a rally in central Athens on Sunday to protest against a film made in California which mocks Islam's Prophet Mohammad, the first such demonstration in Greece.

The protesters chanted "All we have is Mohammad" and held banners reading "We demand an immediate punishment for those who tried to mock our Prophet Mohammad" as they prepared to march to the U.S. embassy.

Many Muslims regard any depiction of the Prophet Mohammad as blasphemous, let alone one which denigrates the Prophet.

French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo stoked the furor last week when it published cartoons featuring a naked Mohammad, and on Friday France banned street protests against the drawings.

Iranian students gathered at the French embassy in Tehran on Sunday to protest against the publication of the cartoons, Iran's Fars news agency reported.

Tentang Madzi, Cairan Bening Yang Keluar Ketika Sedang Bercumbu - Cairan bening tidak kental dan lengket yang keluar ketika sedang bercumbu dengan istri/suami atau ketika membayangkan hal tersebut dalam khazanah Fiqh Islam disebut Madzi.

Cairan ini adalah Najis karena Rasulullah SAW memerintahkan agar mencuci kemaluan dari cairan tersebut dan berwudhu (tidak perlu mandi janabat).

Dari Ali bin Abi Thalib RA, ia berkata: "Aku adalah orang yang banyak mengeluarkan madzi akan tetapi aku malu untuk bertanya kepada Rasulullah SAW berkaitan hal tersebut karena alasannya putri beliau (Fatimah). Maka aku memerintahkan Miqdad bin Al-Aswad untuk menanyakan hal tersebut kepada Rasulullah SAW, beliau pun bersabda: "Hendaklah ia membersihkan kemaluannya dan berwudhu." (HR. Bukhori dan Muslim).

Imam As-Syairoji meyebutkan karena cairan tersebut (madzi) keluar dari tempat keluarnya hadats maka hukumnya seperti air kencing. (Fatawa Al-Hindiyah 1/46).

Jumhurul ulama menyatakan jika cairan madzi tersebut keluar ketika seseorang sedang melaksanakan ibadah shaum maka ibadah shaumnya tidak batal, karena tidak ada nash yang menyatakan hal tersebut dan juga tidak ada Ijma (konsensus ulama). Dan juga tidak mungkin diqiaskan (dianalogikan) kepada jima (Al-Mughny Ibnu Qudamah 3/49).

Sedangakan jika saudara bangun untuk melaksanakan sahur dan mendengar adzan sudah berkumandang maka shaum tidak sah, kecuali jika saudara sahur terlebih dahulu kemudian terdengar adzan, maka saumnya sah dengan syarat, ketika saudara mendengar adzan tersebut, saudara menghentikan makan sahur. India's insurer aims to double premium income

India's insurer aims to double premium income - India's General Insurance Corporation aims to double its premium income annually over the next five years from its branch in Labuan.

Last year, the company recorded US$150mil in reinsurance premium income from its Labuan branch.

"Coming from a low base, we think we can grow our business fast, and we might turn this branch into a subsidiary office in tandem with the growth," said GIC chairman and managing director Ashok Kumar Roy at the official launch of GIC's Labuan Branch on Thursday.
